Crime Prevention

Sedgefield Borough is already a safe place to live and work, it has a crime rate 26% lower than the national average (Audit and Strategy 2005-08).

Even so, many people tell us they are worried about crime and are concerned about the effect crime may have in their neighbourhoods.  The truth is - Crime has been falling since the mid 1990's. (crime reduction website).

We want our residents to feel secure in the community and have a number of ongoing projects to help make further improvements.

Whether your fear of crime is real or imaginary there are many ways you can help keep yourself and your belongings protected and make you feel more secure.
